On 08 December 2016, the time had finally come and we officially celebrated the start of construction of our new hall. But what is that exactly – the new hall? Our future office and workshop building; our new four walls; our new home.

The renovation work on the building started last autumn. To celebrate accordingly, we organised a little kick-off event for all of our employees, partners, mentors and friends of grow. This was obviously organised in the style of a construction site.

We used our Baustellenevent #1 (side note: Baustelle is the German word for construction site 😉 ) to join our guests in celebrating several things at once: the start of construction of our new hall, of course, but also the end of the year and the upcoming Christmas period. And as a very special highlight: the pitches of our grow enterprise! After almost eight weeks of hard work, four teams presented their innovative new product ideas in the hope of finding investors from various Bosch areas.

Our teams pitched to the judging panel with a great deal of charm, humour and gumption.

grow vs. the creative abyss

We were delighted to welcome a very special guest to our first event. In a panel discussion, rapper Tua offered us insights into his methods of dealing with creative blocks. Together with representatives of our start-ups, we discussed how to learn to think outside the box and clear your mind. Some of you might be wondering why we invited a rapper to our event. But the reason is pretty simple. You will find an explanation here.

All good things come in... twos? Or more!

At our Baustellenevent #2 on 09 February 2017, New York pop-art artist AVone shared his story, thoughts and experiences with us.

What? Another event? Yes, exactly. The Baustellenevent #1 was so much fun that we’ve decided to celebrate once a quarter! As a result, we started 2017 with a kick-off event and an extensive look back at the year gone by, with all of our German start-ups reviewing 2016.

2016 was an exciting year for us here in the Platform team too, with new colleagues, a new hall and new partners.

Keep an eye out for the next Baustellenevent. It may be sooner than you think. 🙂
